Time is ticking....

I don't know about everyone else but I am very excited that the sun is setting on 2009 and looking forward to what another year will bring. It always seems to fly by this time of year, but not too quick that we can't capture every fleeting moment!

Best wishes for 2010....

Christmas Spirit

I have only just realised how quickly time has been flying and I haven't had an entry for about one month!!!

These things happen during this crazy time of year. Hoping to have some new photos developed soon with all the socialising I have been doing. Plus an upcoming roadtrip over the New Year period with some super duper friends.

In the meantime, let's all be naughty and nice for Santa...

Torino, Italy

In 2007 I spent over a month in Italy, taking in all of the typical romantic cities. I had an absolutely fab time, but this year, a couple of nights in Turin opened me up to a different side of Italy. Recovering from too much sun along the coastline, nothing was as comforting as a large city in the north with everyone else on holidays down south. Stunning rolling hills, lakes, a way funky automobile museum, street art and the biggest Piazzas I have seen in the entire country.

Here are a few shots from my travelling companion's camera - it always looks fresher from someone else's eyes.

Found Things....

Readymade fun.

I assisted a close friend who is studying primary teaching to come up with some Surrealist - inspired activities for her little classroom young'ens. We had a lovely afternoon juxtaposing my household items in the garden.

I think I might enrol in Miss B's Grade 1 class...no toast for play lunch though!

Publication on the Way

Just a little sneak peak at a new publication I'm working on...

I have a few spreads here from the Italy section of the proposed book to share. It's a still a work in progress but I am hoping to have a draft printed very soon. VIVA ITALIA.

Europe Travels

IOA, SANTORINI
It is impossible to take a bad photo here, but I give full credit to the HOLGA and its film for the brilliant hues of blue. This is my kind of Greece...

Europe Travels

ATHENS

Is so much more than just hot weather, unreliable timetables, smog and smokers. Dont forget the glitzy hair, long lazy frappes, Athenian policemen in aviators and navy muscle tees (drinking long lazy frappes) and some seriously decent shopping!!! Tried to take photos out of the hustle and bustle, but was very distracted by the tastes at the fresh food market.

Feature Project - 7 Apples

Watch this space - 7apples is closing in two weeks for the winter break and work on StKilda's7 is finally taking shape. The promotional material I have been working on is now finalised and in store!

Found Things...

I have always been a fan of readymades, interesting objects you wander across in your path and found type. This old chair sitting in the middle of a roundabout near my house was just waiting to be photographed. The next day when I went to see it in the daylight, the chair was gone.

Feature Project - 7 Apples

Check out some photography taken for my latest client.

Mark at 7apples is about to launch a new website. Earlier this year when the weather was warmer and St Kilda was at its finest, I tested out my Holga and all the Festival crowd loved being part of the action.

Thanks to photobucket for these feature slideshows. I'll be using more of them!

Hello!

Hi Everybody,

This blog is an extension of my own professional graphic design website www.madelinecambel.com.

Please check here for image updates, work in progress and general cool things that I find that make up the process of creating interesting visual solutions.

I will be heading overseas soon so I will hopefully have some new stimulating environments and quirky things to share with you.
